Setting Up

Well, the camp’s been waking up throughout the morning and the Camel fiasco seems to have settled down. LaVida went out and bought everyone some chocolates, so we’re ready to go!

Everyone’s working real hard to get ready for our last performance. I’ve been working on decorations, lately. Others have been around setting up the tents and all the wares and doodads and such.

Oh! While I was setting up decorations, some pretty interesting stuff happened. I don’t know if it’s due to lack of sleep or maybe something in the chocolate..but man it was weird. I was hanging up little glass orbs with fun colored ribbons attached to them in the trees. They’re really pretty and definitely help the atmosphere.

Anyway, while I was setting them up, a squirrel came by and gave me a good long look in the eye. I stopped what I was doing and just stood there, staring at it. It got real close..like..in your face kind of close, and I was worried it might be another ill-tempered animal. Then, it spoke! I SWEAR THAT SQUIRREL SPOKE TO ME!

He said, “Hey, Starr! You know the peas are overcooked?” I gave it a funny look. We weren’t even making any peas. We hadn’t even had any peas this whole week! What in the blazes was this squirrel talking about?

“What peas?” I asked, absolutely flabberghasted.

“Peas? Where? I like peas, peas are tasty I pick them out of OH LOOK SHINY!” Then the squirrel grabbed the decoration right out of my hands and ran off with it!

I stood there for a few moments, staring after it kind of hoping he’d come back and explain himself. Or at least bring my decoration back. I looked around for other squirrels, and when I found them tried asking them what they knew about the other one. Unfortunately, not a single one understood me. The carried on collecting nuts and running around like kids hyped up on caffeine.

I think I’m going crazy. I’ve started becoming delusional. Is that a pie I smell? It looks like green. And the monkeys are dancing everywhere…

Getting To Know You…I mean, me?

Well, it appears that the camp is still fairly…asleep. That’s alright.  They worked extremely hard for us all yesterday. We really pulled through, and I’m so proud of all of us.

So, if you’ll turn your attention to that adorable face at the top of the post. That is me. >.> Okay, no. That’s one of my cats. Her name is Odette. I’m opposed to posting my face on a weblog of any sort, so you get an image my cat. And if you harm her, I’m feeding you to the fire breathing camel. Seriously.

So, since that’s a picture of me, obviously, let’s talk a little about one of the Gypsy members! I go by Starr around these parts and I like to make sure everyone’s got a smile on. I hate it when people are fighting. Fights give me migraines, so I always try to think of a solution to the problem. Otherwise I shut myself away for the duration of it, while I try to distract myself and hopefully avoid the head pains.

I have a delightful interest in foreign languages, too! Currently, I’m studying German, seeing as how I’m 1/4 German. Though, I’m also very interested in learning Gaelic, Russian, Korean, Japanese, Icelandic, French, Italian, Spanish, and so on and so forth, in that general sort of order. Other hobbies include SCUBA (someday, seeing as I’m still waiting for my certification), learning to Contact and regular juggle–after I saw the Labyrinth again, I just HAD to start learning–and drawing.

However, seeing as that is actually a picture of my cat named Odette, I guess I’ll tell you a little about her as well. She’s kind of lazy, but so darn cute. She knows how cute she is, too! She’ll plop down on the ground and immediately roll over, giving you the cutest wide eyed look she can think of. Then if you don’t pay attention she’ll start wriggling and meowing and you have to go rub her belly and play with the string. If you further ignore her, she will and has in the past chew through cords pertaining to the computer or internet. Little rascal, she is.

I’m thinkin’ that sums it up for now! I’ll keep waiting around for people to wake up! ^_^” They’re such wonderful sleepers.

Hello fellow Menewshans!

Welcome to the blog of Team Gypsies! We’re currently working on our performances and getting the movements down while we rise up early in the morning! It looks like it’s gonna be an exciting day, and hopefully the Jesters’ member, Belly, will be bringing the fire breathing camel back soon. She’s been having a bit of an affair with him through the duration of this, and since he’s off duty from 7pm CST to 7am CST, I can’t really say no. It’s in the contract and everything. And if I’m not careful, he’ll scorch my pretty hair again!

I walked over to the lake where we’ve been staging our performances to watch the sunrise. I stayed up all night working hard and figured I could stand a nice break of relaxation. It was beautiful! Everything was so peaceful. The birds roamed about the lake, catching breakfast. A few people were taking their dogs for walks, but they weren’t a disturbance at all. The crickets were still chirping, and dew still sat on the grass. The light gradually drew in and the sky went from blackish to light purple, to pink, to the light morning blue.

As I sat there, staring at the sky, I could hear the sound of a particular camel making his way back. He seemed rather grumpy, so I approached him with caution. Most of the group seemed to still be sleeping, so it would be rather rude to start trouble with the camel this early.

Which, by the way, is very hard when your camel breathes fire and has a temper worse than King Henry VIII. I reached out to lead him to his post so he could get some rest…and he not only set my hair on fire, but also ate a huge chunk out of my skirt! First Kage’s pants, and now my skirt!? What in the blazes are we going to do now? That was my favorite skirt, too…

Well, at least I have spares. Guess I’ll go start digging up clothes and seeing what I can find. So not fair…
